In this book Dancing on the Razor s Edge, Colonel Nicholson shares his leadership technique, LAP that was so successful in not simply mobilizing a demoralized squadron to do well, but rather inspiring them to a world-class, over-the-top performance that no one expected. A satisfactory might have been good enough, but good is the enemy of best, and this squadron of exceptional people led by an exceptional leader is a case study validating the effectiveness of practicing Leadership, Accountability, and Professionalism LAP. It s a solid program to follow for dependable results in any organization of any size.

Great job on the book! It was a fast and enjoyable read. I liked the structure of the bulleted summaries at the end of the chapters.....re-enforcing the most salient points (and similar to other executive/management self-improvement books). I also found the comments about some of your family history/background very touching. The baseball back-story was also fun and lightened-up the material. The coolest part about that portion was the inclusion of the letter from your old coach. His comments and support were almost prescient. It also made me reflect on how much our childhood experiences (and those who encounter it w/us), have a last impacting on the rest of our lives. Obviously though, my favorite parts were those about the unit and the events leading up to and through the inspection. Even after having lived through it, I found the narrative compelling. You definitely left the unit and those in it better than you found it.

Dancing on the Razor's Edge is a phenomenal book. Practicing LAP is a concept that can be applied to personal and professional life. What makes this book so great is that it is based on actual experience. I enjoyed reading Dancing on the Razor's and I highly recommend anyone who is in the position of leadership or wanting to be in a position of leadership.
